"Should I stay, or should I go now?
If I go, there will be trouble
And if I stay, it will be double
So ya gotta let me know
Should I stay, or should I go?"
—The Clash
A lot of customers are asking about New Hampshire's State Inspection program—is it staying? is it going? We hardly know what is going on ourselves, this due to very little and conflicting information from the powers that be.
Previously, annual inspections were set to expire on January 31, 2026; however, vehicle owners are still legally required to ensure that their vehicles are safe in accordance with New Hampshire law, including the following:
functional exterior lights and directionals all around
functioning brakes and parking brake
adequate tread tire depth and safe tread wear
windshields must not have large and/or obstructing cracks
functioning windshield wipers
no exhaust leaks and an otherwise functioning exhaust
no broken, missing, or overly rusty parts affecting the safety of the vehicle
But news today is reporting that inspections, both safety and emissions, will remain for now.
Our state inspections remain $40.00 for both safety and emissions. That said, free inspections are better than cake! and as such we'll continue to offer inspections ON THE HOUSE, both for vehicle inspections that pass and for customers whose vehicles don't pass, but who choose to complete necessary services with us.
