(Perhaps we should title this Part Two?)
As of late afternoon on Friday, February 13, 2026, New Hampshire's vehicle inspection program is now suspended until further notice—this according to the State's Office of Attorney General.
That means inspection stations, like ours, are no longer authorized to issue state inspection stickers and vehicles are not required to obtain an annual state inspection.
It should be noted that the Attorney General's office is stating "at this time" so peel your inspection stickers off your windows if you want to, but with all of this back and forth, you may want to wait.
Drivers are still responsible for and legally required to ensure that their vehicles are safe in accordance with New Hampshire law, including the following:
functional exterior lights and directionals all around
functioning brakes and parking brake
adequate tread tire depth and safe tread wear
windshields must not have large and/or obstructing cracks
functioning windshield wipers
no exhaust leaks and an otherwise functioning exhaust
no broken, missing, or overly rusty parts affecting the safety of the vehicle
